17 Nov I’m Afraid
“The Lord is my light and salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me, my heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident.” – Psalms 27: 1-3
When I was a little girl I was scared of the dark. I would be so afraid that I couldn’t close my eyes. I always thought that some man with a knife would come walking into my bedroom and kill me. As I got older I sort of grew out of being afraid of the dark but I started to be afraid of other things. See what I have learned from all of the things that I have been afraid of in my life is that you can’t let fear control you. When you let fear control you, you are afraid of the smallest things. When we start realizing that ‘The Lord is my light and salvation’ we can realize that He lights our paths when we are in complete darkness. One of my favorite songs goes like this: “I know Who goes before me, I know Who stands behind. The God of angel’s armies is always by my side. The One Who reigns forever, He is a friend of mine. The God of angel’s armies is always by my side. (By Chris Tomlin)” Today you have the God of angel armies by your side. So don’t walk in fear because “God does not give us a Spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Give all your fear to God and realize today that you are Free!
