11 Sep I can’t see!
Everything looks different in the dark. You may have tried to navigate from your bed to the toilet once in the middle of the night, thinking you could do it without being able to see, but as soon as your pinky toe collided with a piece of furniture you began to lose all trust in yourself. How about when you’re wearing a blindfold and someone else has to direct you to a destination? As soon as you run into something you begin to lose trust in their directing skills.
Is your life like this? Do you ever feel like you’re going through life and you know exactly what you’re doing? That is until you run into an obstacle and wish you had never started that certain journey in the first place. Maybe you have no idea where you’re going, you feel like you’re blindfolded and the directions you are being given aren’t leading the right way. We can rely on so many sources to give us directions, ourselves, the media, peers and even teachers (though hopefully they’re leading you in a good way!).
But who should be our main source of direction?
John 10:27-28 – My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
When we listen to God’s voice and follow Him then He gives us eternal life, He knows us. God knows our dreams and our desires, He knows our talents and our flaws. Yet, through it all, He chooses us as His own. He is our shepard and He wants to lead us into new and exciting things, all we have to do is trust Him!
But what does it mean to trust Him? To have faith in where He is leading us?
Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see.
When we have faith in God we know that regardless of what we can see, even when there looks like there’s no hope, He is leading us to good things. God will never challenge you with something you are not capable of. Ever trial is a time for us to learn new lessons and build on our character, to become stronger. We need to have confidence in the hope God has given us. He sent Jesus down to save us, Jesus is our hope. The question is, are you confident in Jesus? Do you find your confidence, your passion and drive in Him?
We may not be able to see God at the moment, but we can see how He is moving.
We can have assurance that God is moving in great and miraculous ways, we can have faith that He is for us and not against us.
It’s time to stop stubbing our pinky toe trying to do things our way and let Jesus truly take the wheel.
