The end of yourself is the beginning of God
When you’re at the end of yourself, when you can’t take the struggle, when the fight is too much, when the odds are overwhelming, when the darkness seems all consuming, in the worst of the worst, when all you have is gone. GOD IS THERE!
At the end of yourself is the beginning of God.
We need a realisation that we can’t do this on our own, that our own will, our own strength, our own ideas, our own plans, our own smarts and our own efforts just don’t cut it in this life and that we need help. It is at this point we can discover the strength, the love, the peace, the joy and the grace of God. When we come to the end of ourselves and everything we can do in and of ourselves we come to a point where we can allow God to be God in our lives.
“So I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,
My grace is enough; it’s all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.”
2 Corinthians 12:7b-10
Every day we face situations that suck. Maybe you’re experiencing bullying, rejection, loneliness, depression, loss, a lack of direction whatever you face, no matter how hard or how big or even small it is stop trying to handle it yourself!
Realise that this is too much for you but with God nothing is too much. Come to the end of yourself, your strength, your resources, your ideas and allow God to be your strength, to be your hero, to be exactly what you need. God loves us and wants to rescue us and give us everything we need but we need to give up ourselves and take up Jesus as our hope and our strength.
Don’t do this life alone do it with Jesus. You can do it, you can be victorious, you can be happy, you can know your loved, you have can hope, just give it all to Jesus.
Take time to pray to God and ask Him to help you with whatever you are facing today. Pray that He would be your strength and hope and that He would cause breakthrough in your life.
