02 Jun Victory in Jesus
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of Salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His Love.”
When we come up against trials in our lives we can sometimes feel like our lives our over.
We say things like, “ Nope that’s it! I can’t handle this any more! I give up!” I can feel like that sometimes, but when I look at this Scripture I can see that my life is not over. I begin to understand that God puts us through trials to build us up, not to tear us down. Each situation helps us to rely more upon God because we realise that we can’t do it by ourselves.
A man who came as a guest speaker (Geoff from Compassion) to our church one day said it beautifully. He was talking about how even Jesus had a difficult time carrying the Cross up to Golgotha (Place of the skull). Jesus had to receive help from a man name Simon. This man helped Jesus carry His cross up to the place where He would be crucified. Just as Simon helped Jesus with His burdens, so will Jesus help you with your burdens.
“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light”. (Matthew 11: 30)
So don’t be discouraged in your trials today. Realise that God wont give you anything you can’t handle and that He is walking beside you all the way. He will Never leave you nor forsake you. You are His beloved children, and you have the victory through Him!
Romans 8:37 “In everything we have won more than a victory because of Christ who loves us.”
